Korede Bello: We produced Godwin in less than four days

Although his recent song, Mr. Romantic, featuring ace singer Tiwa Savage, is gradually worming into the heart of his fans, Korede Bello in an exclusive interview with Saturday Beats said that his hit song, Godwin, was the fastest song they have made so far.

Known for his boyish charms, the singer said that it took him and Don Jazzy about three days to make the song that has since become like a national anthem.

“Godwin was divinely a God project and I hope that God will bless my other works like he did Godwin. It was Don Jazzy that started the project and when he was half way, I joined him and we co-wrote the song together. At that moment, the song was inspired by the beat. But before then, I had always wanted to do a song that would touch all demography and that everyone could relate to. I have always dreamed of having a song with a message that people would dance to in the clubs and the same song could be sung in church. Godwin is the quickest song that we ever did. I have some songs in the studio that we recorded two years ago. It took us about three days to complete Godwin and within a week, the song was already out. It was easy to get the lyrics because it is about everyday situations,” he said.

Yemi Alade: I like my man to be God fearing; have a good sense of style and good humour

Singer, Yemi Alade, is not doing badly in her music career and she has even drawn more fans to her heart since she came on board.
Though she once said she would “like to date Phyno”, Yemi, in a recent chat with Saturday Beats, said she was still very single and she readily gave some clues to men who would want to sweep her off her feet.
Yemi said her ideal man must have the fear of God.
“I like my man to be God fearing; have a good sense of style and good humour. He has to be one that has ambition and purpose and he must show it, not just talk about it.”
Blessed with a sonorous voice, the singer who delved into the fashion world, said she made the move so that she would not waste her youth. She added that since the death of her father, she has had to be her mother’s pillar of support.
“I’m very good at multi-tasking. In the morning, I still go to the kitchen and do things myself. I am currently talking to someone for a shoe-line, and talking to other people for other business opportunities. I am everywhere. I must use my youth well. I lost my dad at a young age and so, I am like my mother’s father and husband. I have a business partner who will take care of my other businesses because she understands my work.
“I also went into fashion because of my love for African fashion. I discovered that whenever I go to other African countries to perform, they usually try to replicate my style, so I decided to make something for them and myself as well. The collection is about my personality, my style, and because my style is different, we have decided to make it available to my fans. We also made it in form of jewellery so that everybody can wear it. I am an African woman, but I do not wear Iro and Buba about, so I have decided to mix both African and modern culture together, and call it Afropolitan,” she said.

Breaking!!! Rugged Man writes open letter to 9ice- Your Apology is too late

Ruggedman-598x450

Nigerian rap veteran Ruggedman, 39, has written an open letter to 9ice, bloggers and journalists concerning the 6-year-old rumour that he slept with Toni Payne (9ice’s wife in 2010).
In the open letter Ruggedman said 9ice’s apology came late but he still accepts it nonetheless.

You can read his open letter below;

“In 2010 9ice released a song that made a lot of people wrongfully drag me into a terrible situation. People who misconstrued the song and it created a rumour .
A terrible false rumour that was fueled by journalists and bloggers who were only after hits on their sites. Bloggers and journalists who did not care to investigate and confirm a rumour, but chose to print and post it anyways not caring who got hurt in the process.
I remember pleading my innocence and that of Toni Payne’s but social media people being who and how they are, chose not to listen.
I remember calling 9ice on the phone CIA style to talk to him about it and he was clearly heard admitting the song was not about myself or Toni Payne, but social media people being who and how they are, chose not to listen.
I remember asking 9ice to publicly clear the air on the terrible rumour, but was shocked when my friend said he would not because he was busy and didn’t have time for such. Again nobody wondered why.
Fast forward 2016. Six years later and I was surprised when I heard that 9ice has finally come out to say I never slept with his wife and the song was not about me and even apologised on top. That he has finally come out to say the truth about the issue that cast a negative shadow over my head and that of his ex wife for six years.
